An unexpected stop, a cozy bookstore, and a reminder that not all journeys require a destination.

I ended up picking up this book titled "Konfidenz," a psychological thriller novel by Ariel Dorfman, and ordering a drink by the name of 'Mixed Emotions,' (haha).
The most cutest and coziest vibes ever. Look at all the books and colors. Definitely coming back!
One of my favorite weekend rituals is walking without a destination. No agenda. No timeline.
Just me, comfortable shoes, and whatever streets decide to reveal themselves.
The older I get, the more I appreciate wandering. Not every moment needs to be optimized.
Not every outing needs a purpose. Some of life's greatest discoveries happen when we're simply paying attention.
The other day, while walking through Ridgewood, I stumbled upon Topos Bookstore Café.
Had I been rushing somewhere, I probably would have passed right by it.
But there it was, quietly tucked into the neighborhood, inviting passersby inside with shelves of books and the comforting promise of coffee, pastries, and drinks.
I stepped in.
Immediately, I was in awe and reminded why independent bookstores continue to hold a special place in my heart.
Unlike algorithms, bookstores don't know exactly what you're looking for.
They leave room for surprise.
A title catches your eye.
A cover sparks curiosity.
A sentence on the back of a book convinces you to take a chance on a story you never intended to read.
There is something beautifully human about that. As I wandered through the aisles, I found myself thinking about how much of life unfolds this way.
The friendships we never expected.
The conversations that change us.
The love that arrives when we least expect it.
The opportunities that arrive disguised as ordinary moments.
The places we discover simply because we took a different street home.
We spend so much of our lives searching for big answers that we sometimes overlook the small joys waiting quietly around the corner.
A neighborhood café.
A hidden bookstore.
A good cup of coffee.
A book that somehow finds us exactly when we need it.
Perhaps that is why I love walking so much.
Walking reminds me that life is not always about arriving.
Sometimes it is about noticing.
And on this particular afternoon, what I noticed was a little bookstore in Ridgewood that reminded me there is still magic in getting lost.
Sometimes the best places are the ones we were never looking for at all.
