Beyond the poet

Lil Poetrid isn't "little" because she's small. The name carries the word lil because I've always been someone who notices the little things. To me, even the smallest moments hold profound meaning. I gather fragments of everyday life: a passing thought, a dream, a conversation, a feeling, and transform them into poetry.

The rid comes from the last few letters of my name, Astrid, a name that means divine strength.

For a long time, I failed to see that feeling everything so deeply was a gift. I viewed my sensitivity as something to hide, something to outgrow, or something to get rid of. Yet it is that very sensitivity that allows me to write. It is what helps me to find meaning in ordinary moments and turn them into something magical.

In many ways, Lil Poetrid is an extension of who I am: a place where sensitivity and strength coexist.

Lil Poetrid carries a deeper significance than a name alone. It is also a collection of all that surrounds me. I am someone who translates every fleeting moment into something worth remembering.
